Definition:  A central structural section of the aircraft electronics rack assembly that contains and protects systems such as communications systems and signal receiver processor systems. These systems may consist of such items as receiver-transmitter, global positioning system (GPS), radio ranging, data video compression system, antenna, and the like. This item is used in conjunction with other sections to form a complete electronics system package for receiving and processing signals of interest. Excludes: radar, radio, electrical flight control, and autopilot system.
