Definition:  An item designed to indicate that the temperature of blood within the container upon which it is affixed has exceeded 10 degrees Celsius. It also may used for in-house insurance of blood units for transfusion. Item is for use with BOX,WHOLE BLOOD SHIPPING. May include a sealed vial containing dark colored indicator pellets in a colorless solution that solidifies and becomes white at a temperature below approximately 10 degree Celsius. Item may be attached to plastic or glass blood containers with a strip of pressured sensitive tape.
