Definition:  A device which is used in conjunction with a PROGRAMMER, MICROCIRCUIT and provides the means for connecting a specific family of microcircuit devices to the programmer. It may have facilities for verifiying that the microcircuit being mounted is of the correct type, that it is installed correctly, that it is blank, or that a previously programmed microcircuit is usable with the present program.
