Definition:  A crane in which the hoisting apparatus is located in the crane cab with the hoisting lines running over a boom to ground level. The crane is supported by a structural gantry-type framework of variable height which may be stationary or mobile mounted. The gantry is generally constructed to provide a portal clearance for vehicles operating under the crane.
